Visual Key
Every project on this page uses the same color and icon language. Once you know it, you can scan the state in seconds.
The tracker is built from a normalized inventory of Pennsylvania AI data-center projects covering announcements, filings, approvals, denials, withdrawals, and ordinance responses from 2020 through May 2026. It joins seven datasets, projects, operators, timeline events, community impacts, legal filings, sources, and inter-project relationships, into a single denormalized JSON file consumed by this page. Sources include state and federal filings (FERC, PUC), municipal records, Pennsylvania Senate and House files, peer-reviewed academic work where applicable, and reporting from the Philadelphia Inquirer, MoreThanTheCurve, WHYY, BISNOW, Patch, Spotlight PA, and the trade press.
The data is regenerated from a single spreadsheet, so updates are simple. If you have a correction or a new project we're missing, tell us.
