After months of anticipation, Plymouth Township has scheduled the first Zoning Hearing Board session on the 900 Conshohocken Road data center for Thursday, June 25 at 7:00 p.m., at Colonial Middle School, 716 Belvoir Road in Plymouth Meeting.
The township chose a larger venue than the building that hosted the first round of hearings, where crowds of hundreds turned out, an apparent move to accommodate the scale of expected attendance. It is a different choice than nearby Limerick Township, which responded to large crowds by moving its hearings to smaller rooms.
A few things to know before the 25th:
- The June 25 session is open to the public and will be live-streamed, but there will be no public comment that night.
- The first meeting covers procedural steps, including the opportunity for community members to seek party status, plus initial testimony.
- The matter is expected to span multiple hearing dates given the anticipated scope of testimony and evidence.
- The township says it will announce in advance the future date on which public comment will be permitted.
The site sits in the Heavy Industrial district, where data centers are not a listed use, so the applicant is seeking a special exception under the “similar use” provision. As a quasi-judicial body, the Zoning Hearing Board will weigh evidence and testimony against the ordinance's standards before deciding.
If you live near the site or in the township, seeking party status at the first hearing is how your voice becomes part of the formal record. We can help you prepare.
