Microsoft Corporation
Microsoft is the software and cloud computing company headquartered in Redmond, Washington, publicly traded on Nasdaq, with about 223,000 full-time employees as of June 2026. In September 2024 it signed a 20-year agreement to buy the power from Constellation's restart of the 835-megawatt Three Mile Island Unit 1 reactor in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, now called the Crane Clean Energy Center. Constellation says Microsoft will use that power to help match the electricity its data centers on the PJM regional grid consume, and there's no data center on the island.
Microsoft spent $115.9 billion on property and equipment in its 2026 fiscal year, up from $64.6 billion the year before, and had committed another $34.6 billion for construction, mostly datacenters, as of June 30, 2026.
