Constellation Energy
Constellation Energy is a Baltimore power producer that says it has about 55 gigawatts of generating capacity and is the largest nuclear energy company in the U.S. In Pennsylvania it's restarting the former Three Mile Island Unit 1 reactor in Londonderry Township as the Crane Clean Energy Center under a 20-year power deal with Microsoft, and it plans to add about 348 megawatts at its Limerick plant in Limerick Township under a 20-year deal with Google. It asked East Coventry Township to allow data centers on parcels it bought near Route 724, then withdrew the request in March 2026 after the planning commission voted 4-0 to recommend denial. Its January 2026 purchase of Calpine brought it the York 2 gas plant in Peach Bottom Township, where Energy Capital Partners announced a data center in 2025, and federal merger terms require Constellation to sell that plant.
In October 2026 Constellation agreed to a 20-year deal with Google covering 890 megawatts of new capacity from upgrades at 11 nuclear units in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, plus a 15-year supply deal for 2,700 megawatts from its existing PJM fleet, and the company says the agreement represents more than $4.3 billion of new investment by Constellation.
