Google is owned by Alphabet Inc., a publicly traded company based in Mountain View, California. Google buys electricity from both Pennsylvania projects we link it to, to support its operations on the PJM regional grid, and neither site has a data center. In July 2025 it signed two 20-year contracts with Brookfield for about 670 megawatts from the Holtwood and Safe Harbor hydroelectric dams on the Susquehanna River in Lancaster and York counties, worth more than $3 billion and the first under a framework for up to 3,000 megawatts of hydropower. In October 2026 it agreed to a 20-year deal with Constellation for 890 megawatts of new nuclear output from upgrades at 11 reactors in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including about 348 megawatts at the Limerick Generating Station in Limerick Township, Montgomery County.
Alphabet spent $91.4 billion on capital expenditures in 2025, mainly for technical infrastructure, and said it expects to spend significantly more in 2026 on servers, network equipment and data centers.
