Invitium Energy, LLC
Invitium Energy, LLC is a joint venture of PPL Corporation, the Allentown utility company, and Blackstone Infrastructure, formed in July 2025 to build, own and run gas-fired power plants in Pennsylvania that would sell electricity directly to data centers under long-term contracts. PPL says the venture has land that could hold 8 to 14 gigawatts of generation, more than 5 gigawatts of grid connection requests accepted by PJM, the regional grid operator, and reservations for more than 5 gigawatts of gas turbines, but it hasn't named any plant sites or customers. PPL also says Invitium won't start construction until it signs supply contracts and that PPL Electric Utilities customers aren't paying for it.
