Homer City Redevelopment
Homer City Redevelopment LLC is the company turning the former Homer City coal plant site in Center and Blacklick townships, Indiana County, into the Homer City Energy Campus, with a gas-fired power plant of up to 4.5 gigawatts that POWER Magazine reported would be the largest in the U.S. It works through its power company, Homer City Generation, L.P., with Kiewit Power Constructors as the engineering and construction contractor and seven GE Vernova gas turbines, and it puts the initial investment at more than $10 billion. Funds managed by Knighthead Capital Management have held major stakes in Homer City for years and lead the project's financing, and Amazon Web Services has filed plans with Indiana County for 36 data centers on about 1,100 acres of the campus.
