Knighthead Capital Management, LLC
Knighthead Capital Management is a New York-based investment firm co-founded in 2008 by Tom Wagner and Ara Cohen that specializes in operational and financial turnarounds and manages money through insurance asset management, real estate lending and fund vehicles. Power magazine reported that it has held significant equity in the Homer City site in Indiana County for nearly eight years and will lead financing for the Homer City Energy Campus, where a gas plant of up to 4.5 gigawatts is under construction and Amazon Web Services has filed plans for 36 data centers. Partner Andrew Shannahan spoke for the firm when the campus, with more than $10 billion in planned initial investment, was announced in April 2025.
