Fit Energy and Fit Ventures
Fit Energy (Fit Energy USA LP) is an energy company led by chief executive Joel Leonoff that builds and owns on-site power systems for data center campuses, using natural gas fuel cells from FuelCell Energy. In Newport Township, Luzerne County, it holds zoning permits issued in August 2026 for 15 data center buildings and three gas generation facilities on former mine and quarry land, and three residents have sued to void the zoning ordinance behind those permits. In Mount Carmel Township, Northumberland County, FIT Energy USA LP bought about 561 acres of former coal land near Natalie in December 2025 and is pitching a fuel cell powered data center while the township's moratorium runs to November 13, 2026.
Fit Energy's June 2026 agreement with FuelCell Energy covers up to 380 megawatts of fuel cell power for data centers, with a deposit on the first 30 megawatts.
