Capital Power

Capital Power is a power producer based in Edmonton, Alberta, and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, and it says it has about 12 gigawatts of generation at 32 facilities across North America. In June 2025 it completed a US$2.2 billion purchase that included Hummel Station, LLC, owner of the 1,124 megawatt gas-fired Hummel plant in Shamokin Dam Borough, Snyder County. It plans an upgrade that would add about 30 megawatts at Hummel, and the state Department of Environmental Protection issued the air plan approval for the turbine work on February 5, 2026.

The same 2025 deal included the 1,023 megawatt Rolling Hills gas plant in Wilkesville, Ohio.
