Aligned Data Centers

Aligned Data Centers is a Dallas-based developer and operator of data centers with 51 campuses and more than 6.4 gigawatts of operational and planned capacity, according to the company. A group made up of the AI Infrastructure Partnership, MGX and BlackRock's Global Infrastructure Partners completed its purchase of Aligned on July 23, 2026, in a deal valuing the company at about $40 billion. In Shippingport Borough, Beaver County, Aligned bought about 651 acres of the former Bruce Mansfield coal plant property in July 2026 and broke ground in September on Project Phoenix, a three-building, 2-gigawatt campus that it says will run on its own dedicated on-site power source.

Aligned's campuses are concentrated in Northern Virginia, Chicago, Dallas, Ohio, Phoenix and Salt Lake City, plus Latin America, and its new owners committed $5 billion of growth capital when the purchase closed.
