Tenaska

Tenaska is an Omaha, Nebraska, energy company that says it's one of the largest privately held companies in the United States, with businesses in natural gas marketing, power marketing and power generation. It owns the 940 megawatt Tenaska Westmoreland Generating Station, a natural gas plant in South Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, through Tenaska Pennsylvania Partners LLC. The plant began commercial operation in December 2018, and the state Department of Environmental Protection issued its first Title V air permit in June 2026. A data center has since been proposed on farmland about a mile away, and the plans filed for it don't say where its power would come from.

Tenaska says its generation business manages 6,622 megawatts at 16 natural gas, wind and solar facilities in eight states.
