Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center
The Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center is a joint computational research center of Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh, and it has a 40-year history of supporting researchers and educators. In April 2026 it joined Pennsylvania's seven research universities, the state and Team Pennsylvania in launching the Keystone AI and Quantum Factory, a statewide partnership to share computing resources. The partnership hasn't announced a new building, site or power use.
PSC says a $10 million National Science Foundation grant will pay for its Bridges-3 supercomputer, which Hewlett Packard Enterprise is expected to start building at PSC's new data center in early 2027.
