International Electric Power
International Electric Power is a privately held Pittsburgh power developer that had been in business for 23 years as of August 2025 and says it has over 7 gigawatts of generation experience. Through International Electric Power III LLC and Project Hummingbird LLC, it wants to build a gas-fired power plant of roughly 910 to 944 megawatts and an 18 million gallon a day water plant at the former Robena Mine in Monongahela Township, Greene County, to attract a hyperscale data center, and Essential Utilities agreed in August 2025 to invest $26 million. Greene County approved early site work in December 2025, but no data center tenant has been named and the township says the work hasn't moved forward since.
International Electric Power says it has carried out gas-fired combined-cycle, solar and long-duration energy storage projects in the U.S. and abroad.
