Backer profile · Equipment maker
GE Vernova Inc.
GE Vernova is the energy equipment and services company that General Electric spun off in April 2024, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and it reported about $38 billion in revenue for 2025. It makes gas turbines, grid equipment and wind and hydro power equipment. In Pennsylvania it's expanding its Grid Solutions switchgear plant in the Charleroi area of Washington County, where its investment page lists 430 new jobs, and it's the turbine partner in a gas power venture with NRG Energy and Kiewit's TIC aimed at data center demand in Texas and the PJM region, though no Pennsylvania site for that venture has been announced.
GE Vernova is supplying seven 7HA.02 gas turbines for the Homer City Energy Campus in Indiana County, according to POWER Magazine, and on July 30, 2026 Governor Shapiro announced a separate $166 million GE Vernova expansion in Findlay and Rostraver townships that the state says will create 714 jobs.
