Essential Energy
Essential Energy, LLC is a limited liability company that applied in March 2026 to build a natural gas power plant of about 400 megawatts on the former Highway Auto salvage yard at 1000 Main Street in Archbald, Lackawanna County. Its zoning application gives an address at 805 Enterprise Street in Dickson City, the same address listed for the property owner, PDC Realty, LLC, and the residents' group Stop Archbald Data Centers says the company was registered with the state the day after the application was filed. Stop Archbald also says the plant comes from the same developer as Project Boson, the data center planned across Eynon Jermyn Road, and borough council has held at least five conditional use hearings on the plant with no decision reported.
