CNX Resources Corporation
CNX Resources is a publicly traded natural gas company headquartered in Canonsburg, Washington County, that produces gas from the Marcellus and Utica shales and says it has been part of Appalachia's energy industry for 160 years. It owns a tract off Zediker Station Road in South Strabane Township, Washington County, that JLL began marketing in October 2025 as a data center site with on-site gas power, describing it as 1,500 acres with 400 buildable acres. No buyer or application has been made public, and CNX's lawyers objected to setbacks in the township's data center ordinance, which supervisors adopted in June 2026 with a 1,500-foot buffer from occupied homes.
CNX owns or operates about 2,600 miles of natural gas gathering pipelines and captures waste coal mine methane in Virginia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
