TRON USA AI Campus at the former Titus Station (Go Energy Group, Cumru Township)
Cumru Township, Berks County
A proposed 200 MW AI data center campus at the retired Titus coal plant in Cumru Township, Berks County, announced in May 2026, with no land development plan filed as of the latest reporting.
The project by the numbers
Go Energy Group and Titus Development pitch a 200 MW AI campus at the old Titus power plant
- Developer
- Go Energy Group and Titus Development Corporation (called Titus Development Co. by WFMZ), under a strategic agreement announced May 14, 2026
- Tenant
- No tenant named
- Current stage
- The project is at the announcement stage. WFMZ reported in May 2026 that no formal land development plan had been submitted to Cumru Township, and we didn't find a later filing. Meanwhile the Titus parcel is part of a pending Berks County sheriff sale case against Recycle The World Inc., the nonprofit that bought the plant property in 2021. A November 6, 2026 online sale is listed with a status of Rejected, so it isn't clear whether that sale will go forward.
- Decision body
- Cumru Township Board of Commissioners and Cumru Township Planning Commission
- Top issues
- Who controls the site, given the pending sheriff sale case; the size and power source of the campus; water use, noise and power demand, which Cumru Township's data center ordinance addresses according to WFMZ
- Key opponents
- No organized opposition found in public sources
- Key supporters
- None found beyond the announcing companies

Know your rights
In Pennsylvania, the local zoning ordinance sets the route. A conditional use is decided by the elected governing body (supervisors, commissioners or council). A special exception or variance, and an appeal of a zoning officer’s decision, go to the Zoning Hearing Board. Each is a public hearing on a record: affected neighbors can ask for party status, cross-examine witnesses, and appeal. Municipalities can also adopt data center ordinances with enforceable standards.
Know your rights →Take action
Organized community opposition is the single most effective check on these projects in Pennsylvania. Show up to hearings, submit comment when it is taken, support legal and expert-witness costs, and press your municipality for a real ordinance. Pennsylvania municipalities cannot simply freeze applications, but a curative amendment under the Planning Code gives them a defined window to fix a defective ordinance.
