Scranton Materials LLC
Scranton Materials LLC is a Meshoppen-based company that owns a 251-acre stone quarry at 819 Newton Road in Ransom Township, Lackawanna County, on the West Scranton border. In November 2025 it asked the township for a data center zoning overlay to allow six buildings there, each about 120 feet tall, and supervisors denied it 2-1 on January 20, 2026. The company has appealed to the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas, where the case is pending, and public records we found don't say who owns it.
